To wine or not to wine? Wine pros and cons.

So life is conflicting, you read something and it says avoid alcohol, I even wrote that in my sleep section, and yes I do agree to some degree because when I drink white wine, or more than 2 glasses of wine I have the worst sleep and wake up with hot flushes and I can wake up being sooooo hung over from just one small glass or even sip of white wine. Something else I have discovered is that whenever I drink white wine and some other form of alcohol (other than red) that effects my sleep, the next day not only do I feel like I am hung over, but I also feel low and sluggish, and very unmotivated. However all this changes when I drink a small glass of red wine? Go figure.  

Are Roasted Nuts and Seeds good for you ?

Nuts and Seeds – So these guys are pretty good for you right? Yes totally, as long as they aren’t roasted, or salted. So raw natural nuts.  Problem is every one eats them roasted with a whole lot of table salt on them. When a nut is roasted the oils have been heated to a temperature that they cannot handle, certain oils can be heated to different temperatures. As soon as a nut is heated to above 80 degrees the oils begin to go rancid and loose all the benefits. So instead of having antioxidants the oils in the nuts are more likely to age you then help you stay young.

The problem with salt is that it has a bad name because of all the packaged food and processed meals that we eat. This salt is bad for you! Too much of this type of salt which includes table salt, has got a bad name for a reason. Research has also suggested that standard table salt contains 1/3 sand, 1/3 glass and 1/3 salt...

BPA - What is it? Bisphenol A

Hydration is crucial to your health and well being, but what you are drinking is even more crucial. Bisphenol A also known as BPA is a man made chemical that is present in plastic food and drinking containers.  It is classified as a endocrine disruptor, which alters the function of the endocrine system by mimicking the role of the bodies natural hormones. The chemical can leach in into the contents of the container when the container is heated and stored where temperatures may rise above room temperature.

So I thought I would just write a quick wee post explaining what I am doing.... Well I love sharing information, and especially information on how to be healthy, fit and full of life. How much water should I drink, what sort and why?

So remembering to drink water throughout your day is hard work. We all find it hard to keep up the fluids, but know how good we do feel when we do.

Here are a few tips to drinking water

In the morning drink 2 glasses of water before eating. Drink most of your water in between your meals, and just drink a glass with dinner to help wash down your meals, not drown them. Drink 2 glasses of water before exercise, that tired heavy leg feeling you get before going to the gym….feel the difference when you drink water first.
