27 Nov Why Choosing Happiness Can Change Your Life
It’s often not until something significant happens in our lives that we start to question our own happiness. The loss of a love one, a career move, a change of cities or a change in partners are all key life experiences that launch us into self-discovery. Am I happy? Is this the career I want? Am I in love with my partner still? Do I like who I have become? You’re the only one that can ultimately create happiness in your life Click To Tweet
It’s sad that it takes a dramatic event, rejection, fear or heartbreak for us to re-evaluate our lives. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Becoming more tuned into our personal happiness, dreams and desires can really change our outlook and our life experiences.
Why? Because there is no one else but you that can make you happy. You are the only one that truly knows what lights you up, what gives you goose bumps and what makes you feel aligned. Consider you’re at a dinner table with a group of friends. You’re enjoying the exact same meal and wine, yet you will all have a different experience. It may be the flavours you enjoy, the music, the colours or the conversation. Whatever it is that you take away from that evening will be different from the person sitting next to you.
Choosing happiness for you, is about accepting that you have the freedom to enjoy what it is that you enjoy. You don’t need to justify yourself to others, nor do you need their approval. Accept that not everyone will understand your choices, your dreams or your likes.
When you start to identify what makes you happy or feel good, you can start living an enriched life. You will begin to grow, become open to other opportunities and live in the moment. Your life will become more meaningful as you hopefully discover your own purpose.
The big question is, how do you choose to be happy?
1. You make a choice
2. You stick to that choice
3. You watch the dramatic difference happiness can have on your life
Decide you have the power to change your life and how you choose to experience it. I’m not saying that it’s easy or that it will happen overnight, but if you stick with it, the rewards will be well worth it.
