Home Made Sports Water and Energy Drink

 We put in all this effort training and because the All Blacks on TV tell us we should be drinking a certain brand of sports drink! However, its packed full of sugar so not only that it is making you fat, it is also destroying your teeth at the same time. This Home Made Sports Water and Energy Drink is your new smart training buddy. Remember be smart about what you put into your body. What does it actually need?

INGREDIENTS

1 litre of filtered water (for a layer of flavor you could use coconut water or brew herbal teas, fruit teas) 1/8-1/4 teaspoon Himalayan Sea Salt ( this has all the trace minerals in it) Optional -  sweetener optional (Honey, coconut nectar, stevia powder or stevia leaf placed in bottom of bottle) Optional - 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon crush calcium magnesium tablet or powder. 1/4 cup or more of juice ( lemon, orange, grape, carrot, lime, pineapple)
SERVES: 2

Construction Instructions

Make tea if using and use filtered water when making pour into bottle once brewed, or brew in bottle if using bags.

Add seasalt and calcium magnesium

Add juice and shake it up.

Place in fridge and cool for when you need it.
My regular sports drink for most days is Green tea brewed with lemon, sea salt, magnesium and lemon.  Fast and effective. If you don’t have magnesium don’t stress, start with just the salt, water and some fresh juice. Its better than sugar!
