Abdominal musclesThis training program is for those who are wanting to do the intermediate/sprint distance Tri event.  This is 750m swim, 20km bike and a 5km run. Ideally you would have a good base strength for running if you are planning on competing in this, if not make sure you allow yourself a good 12 weeks to build up the strength. We want to create fitness that is really transferable, so its not about just going hard and fast, you want to get it balanced so that you prevent injury and burn out and allow the muscles and ligaments to adapt and build strength. More isn’t better. Training smarter is better.

This program is systematically planned to help you become a better triathlete. The great thing is you only need to add running in 3 times per week, along with some short swimming and bike sessions. What so many do is they fall into the trap of more is better and they train at the same pace week in and week out. I want you to be smart about your training, running everyday does not make you a better runner, in fact so many top runners would only run 3 times per week and combine this with strength and interval work. So this is what you are going to be doing.

The key is to structure your running, swimming and biking so that you are working different system  and getting maximum results without it having to take up hours of your precious time. You are creating the right response within your training to get fitter and stronger quicker without burning out.  We will gradually increase your strength and endurance and help you be able to run for longer periods of time.
