I am against conventional Nutrition. I have been there. I have been through adrenal fatigue, leaky gut, skin problems, hormonal imbalances, thyroid imbalance and conventional nutrition and antibiotics made it worse. So instead I searched for health a traditional way. I searched for the underlying cause of my auto immune conditions and I allowed my body to fix itself. I ate a diet that was anti inflammatory and right for my body. This is what returned me back to health. This is what I am about.
Search for real nutrient rich food, that is whole unprocessed, unmodified and unrefined and is as close to its natural state as possible. Eat meat, eggs, seafoods, vegetables, fruits, nuts and quality fats. Nourish your body by preparing foods traditionally and consume fermented vegetables, bone broths and organ meats to boost your nutrient dense diet. Support local and sustainable farms. Keep hydrated with quality water. Eat good quality chocolate, enjoy a red wine, lift weights, play and lead a fulfilling happy balanced life.
I am all about eating a nutrient dense diet, that gives your body energy. I am about teaching you to understand your body, and knowing what foods you need to be eating to create wellness. Its about balance and lifestyle, and that is what my aim is with this website, with people I meet and the way I train my clients. I want to teach you to enjoy life, and to eat food and exercise that makes you live your life to its potential. After all, thats what life is about. It is short, so make the most of it.
I don’t believe in the typical gym weight loss system, low fat diets, conventional nutrition and the food pyramid. I believe they cannot be any further from the truth if they tried. I am a huge believer in the Weston A Price Foundation Principles and follow a Primal/Paleo approach to nutrition. I then go further than this and look at you as an individual and teach you how to understand your own body, your own metabolic type and how to achieve optimal health with the food that you eat. We are all unique, what works for me wont necessarily work for you. We all know that person who can eat anything and not put on any weight, or that person who eats as healthy as ever yet remains chubby. We all have our own unique dietry needs, metabolic type and understanding this is what will help you get in the best shape of your life.
By understanding your own unique body you can free yourself from cravings, achieve your ideal body weight, heal your body from the inside out, prevent desease and reverse illness, enjoy optimal health and energy.
We live in a modern world where food has changed and the nutrients we get from our food has also changed. Along with this we are bombarded every where we look with synthetic chemistry lab created vitamins and mineral that we should be taking to create wellness. I am about teaching you how you can become a nutrient seeker. Where you can get your nutrients and minerals from in real food. The supplements on this site are the best quality available and what I consider food sources, they are made from real food, and what is most commonly deficient in our diet, no matter how good we are. Sometimes you can’t out do the damage that antibiotics, pain killers, stress and poor diet have done to your digestive system, so we do need a little help from quality supplements to bring this balance back into our body. This is particularly true for digestive problems with a inbalance of bacteria in your digestive system, it doesn’t matter how good your food is if you aren’t supporting it through fermented foods and proper diet and good probiotics the road could be a very long one to recovery and achieving that wellness you are after. When it comes to vitamins the most deficient in the world it is the fat soluble vitamins A, D and K. According to Dr Price from the weston A Price foundation, when studying traditional diets and health of certain population, these were the vitamins that were present in the traditional diets and are the ones required for optimal health and well being and most commonly missing in our modern diet. The Blue Ice Cod liver oil/ butter oil blend is the only one I recommend it is recommended by the WAPF and contains the fat soluble vitamins A,D and K. This is more of a food source, than a supplement. For anyone dealing with skin problems or digestive issues, this is the first thing I will get my clients to take along side probiotics. Both these are food sources that were present in our food thousands of years ago, but with changes to our diet over the years, it has affected our ability to access these. So this is why these items are on my site and why I back them 100%. These two items are what changed my digestive health and my skins health. I don’t believe in diets, quick fixes, fast detox systems and/or 6 week crash courses with restrictions. I train people about the foundations of health and vitality and then build upon them. So that no matter what, the work you put in with you training will stay with you for 6 weeks, 12 weeks and a year later. Here’s a wee sneak into what I do when I’m not working or training. This is my relaxation, aka “meditation.” This really empowers me. Some people surf, some people run, some people meditate, and a lot of people do nothing and need to do something. We have different forms of relaxation, this is mine, and I want to help you find something for yourself that empowers you.
I grew up riding horses and competing. I then gave up to go to University and to start my career. As soon as I gave up, I knew that one day I was going to get back into it. After 9 years of telling myself that, I decided I was sick of being the person saying, one day…or I used to…so I just got back into it. Man talk about scary! It was like I was starting again. No matter how scary that was though, I am so grateful to myself to making the decision to just do it, and not wait until everything is perfect and the timing is right, and when I have lots of money, because that time never comes! You just have to do things you love, and do it now, there is always a way!
