One of the best snacks you can take to a BBQ is something that contains protein and good quality fats. When you consume crackers and chips, you just crave for even more of it that you end up over eating and over drinking. However, if you take nibbles that are protein rich it balances out your blood sugar level and stops you from over eating. Alcohol is a carbohydrate so consume protein and fats to keep yourself in check. Along with lots of water.
My 2nd breakfast is always post workout. I am up at 6 most mornings and always eat within 30 minutes of waking some protein rich breakfast. This orange and lemon grass pork stir fry was a bit of a guess and hope it turns out okay for a kind of dinner. I basically just threw some flavours into the pan while the pork is cooking. You can play around with quantities and make it work for you. You could also make it a little more sweeter if you really wanted with either honey or coconut nectar. I liked it just as is. Tasted really fresh and vibrant. Perfect for a spring dinner.
Want a satisfying delicious lunch? Then you should try this meatwich. Had some left over roast beef in the fridge, so I sliced it up and prepared some of these. Divine! Wasn't sure what to call it first, but thanks to my brother it now has the perfect name! Meatwich.
I had never heard of Black Snapper until I saw it at the fresh fish market the other day on special. This gluten free crumbed fish recipe was the opportunity to try it out. It was big fillets and cheap, so I gave it a go and it was perfect because it held together really well with the crumbs.
Love this new coconut bread recipe paleo friendly. I discovered that when you combine your baking soda with cider vinegar you get quite the powerful rising agent, so I gave it a go in this coconut bread and it has come out quite the treat.
When we were in Vietnam last June, we went to this very cool cafe for breakfast and I ordered a western omelette. It was so good, so I recreated when I got home minus the dairy and it has become a pretty standard way to start my day. With exception to what I have in the fridge, ready to roll. Bacon usually only gets an appearance once a week. ;)
I have an explosion of silver beet (chard) in my garden so it is making its way into every meal somehow. Here is a really great way to start your day. This isn't really a recipe, more of a photo to show you that breakfast doesn't need to come out on a box.
Its all about colour! Make sure you get some colour and variety into your meals. The more colour from vegetables, the more vitamin and minerals you are getting. This was a super tasty dinner, packed full of colour and flavour!
